Barrier option pricing under the 2-hypergeometric stochastic volatility model
The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the pricing of financial options under the 2-hypergeometricstochastic volatility model. This is an analytically tractable model which has recently been introducedas an attempt to tackle one of the most serious shortcomings of the famous Black and Scholes optionpricing model: the fact that it does not reproduce the volatility smile and ske...
متن کاملOption pricing and implied volatilities in a 2-hypergeometric stochastic volatility model
We derive closed-form analytical approximations in terms of series expansions for option prices and implied volatilities in a 2-hypergeometric stochastic volatility model with correlated Brownian motions. As in [4], these expansions allow us to recover the well-known skew and smile phenomena on implied volatility surfaces, depending on the values of the correlation parameter.
متن کاملStochastic Calculus of Heston’s Stochastic-Volatility Model
The Heston stochastic-volatility model is a square-root diffusion model for the stochasticvariance. It gives rise to a singular diffusion for the distribution as noted by Feller (1951). Hence, there is an order constraint on the relationship between the limit that the variance goes to zero and the limit that time-step goes to zero, so that any non-trivial transformation of the Heston model lead...
متن کاملStochastic Elasticity of Volatility Model
We model elasticity of volatility as a stochastic process with an eye to merge popular constant elasticity of variance (CEV) and stochastic volatility (SV) models in order to understand when it is appropriate to use absolute or relative changes or some intermediate transformation as well as to compare with more traditional autoregressive exponential stochastic volatility formulations. We descri...
متن کاملA Neural Stochastic Volatility Model
In this paper, we show that the recent integration of statistical models with deep recurrent neural networks provides a new way of formulating volatility (the degree of variation of time series) models that have been widely used in time series analysis and prediction in finance. The model comprises a pair of complementary stochastic recurrent neural networks: the generative network models the j...
